I will be presenting a selection of printmaking techniques for school workshops at secondary level during the teachers’ conference at the Tate, St Ives.
Sixteen to twenty schools will be attending this exciting conference held on 7th March 2018.
After this I will be able to take bookings for workshops 2018/2019.
We will be opening the Porthmeor Print Workshop during the St Ives September festival 2018.
There will be an exhibition showing a range work produced by members of the workshop and a chance to join the afternoon/evening workshops creating collograph prints and monoprints led by Annabel Wilkes. There will also be demonstrations by printmaker Trevor Price.

Come and join us for a Beginners explorative and inspirational texture making workshop, creating collograph plates and prints. This will be held at the Porthmeor Print Workshop in St Ives, Cornwall 10-3 pm (with a break for lunch).
Using found, recyclable and easily sourced materials to design unique collograph plates on card. We will be focusing on manipulating selected materials (tile adhesive, tape, papers, pva, carborundum) and layering to create texture on card plates to print similarly to etching. From this you will develop a collection of 4/5 prints in monochrome and colour using oil based etching inks.

OCTOBER 5th & 6th 2017
Come and join us for an explorative and inspirational texture making workshop, creating collograph plates and prints. This will be held at the Porthmeor Print Workshop, St Ives on Thursday 5 & 6TH Friday 6th October 10-3pm.
Using found, recyclable and easily sourced materials to design a unique artwork on wood. We will be focusing on simplifying selected materials and sanding to create texture as well as cutting plates into sections. Experience not essential.
You will develop a collection of 4/5 prints.
£40 per day (2 days total), plus a few £s for paper. Groups of 8 max. (£35 if you are a member and want to bring your own inks).

Collograph printmaking workshop for 23rd and 30th November 2016
Day one Wednesday 23rd November 10 am – 3/3.30pm
Introduction and workshop tour. Discuss collograph printing process and individual ideas.
MARKMAKING demonstration. Using and manipulating materials such as torn papers, cutting card, tile adhesive mark making, pva mixing with carborundum etc..
Students will select a format in aluminium or card to work on to build an experimental collograph plate using techniques learnt.
Discuss successful techniques. Proceed to make a chosen composition onto card or aluminium. Shellac all finished work.
Day two Wednesday 30th November 10am-3/3.30pm
PRINTING. Printing demonstration and workshop induction.
Monochrome printing, choose one dark colour or black. (This first print will show you how your textures have worked and what is successful).
Relief printing (lighter colour or tone over a darker intaglio layer).
You will produce minimum of 4 prints during the day dependant on size. There will be a contribution towards materials (£5 per day). This is because we order in aluminium and have materials expenses, inks etc.. Please bring change on the day for this, thankyou. You will also need an apron and a sketchbook to take notes. Either bring a packed lunch or there are cafes nearby.

We are organising an Easter workshop on 7th April 10-4pm at the Porthmeor Print Workshop. We will be preparing collograph plates in the morning with a short break for lunch while they dry, then we will do a few monoprint techniques followed by printing collographs in colour, using intaglio and relief methods. Collograph plates can also be geared towards making hand made cards.
Cost ;(we have kept price low so we can have a maximum of 10 people);
£30 non members
There will be a contribution towards materials and you will need to buy paper.

We are taking bookings at Porthmeor Print Workshop for a block of 3 sessions for open access evenings starting from Thursday 17th March (17th, 24th and 31st March – 6-8.30 pm). This is £10 per session for members and £15 for non members.
There will be drypoint demos and metal plates to buy if you fancy doing something different.
